4. Customer Data Ownership

Customer retains ownership of Customer Data as described in the applicable Master Services and Subscription Agreement.

Trellis processes Customer Data solely for purposes necessary to provide, maintain, secure, support, and improve the Services.

5. What We Do Not Do

Protecting customer trust is fundamental to Trellis.

Trellis does not:

  • Sell Customer Data
  • Sell personally identifiable information
  • Disclose Customer Confidential Information for advertising purposes
  • Permit advertisers to access Customer Data

6. Product Improvement

To improve the Services, Trellis may create and use:

  • Derived Data
  • Aggregated Data
  • De-identified Data
  • Operational Intelligence
  • Platform Analytics

These forms of information may be used to:

  • Improve AI capabilities
  • Improve workflows
  • Improve reporting
  • Develop new products and features
  • Produce benchmarking
  • Improve customer engagement recommendations
  • Improve platform performance
  • Train and evaluate internal platform models and analytics

Derived, aggregated, and de-identified information does not identify individual customers and is not sold as Customer Data.

7. Artificial Intelligence

Trellis incorporates artificial intelligence ("AI") features to assist customers with activities such as:

  • Drafting customer communications
  • Recommending follow-up actions
  • Summarizing customer interactions
  • Identifying workflow opportunities
  • Generating operational insights
  • Improving customer engagement

Human Oversight

Unless Customer intentionally enables automated workflows, AI-generated content is designed to assist users and should be reviewed using appropriate business judgment before it is sent, implemented, or relied upon.

Customer remains responsible for determining whether AI-generated recommendations, communications, workflows, or other outputs are appropriate for its business, customers, and applicable laws.

Customer Control

Customers determine how AI features are used within their organization.

Depending on the Services and Customer's configuration, administrators may control:

  • Which users have access to AI features
  • Whether AI-generated communications require review or approval before being sent
  • Which workflows utilize AI assistance
  • Automation settings and permissions

AI Service Providers

Trellis may utilize trusted third-party artificial intelligence service providers to deliver certain AI-powered functionality.

Where supported by our providers and commercially reasonable to do so, Trellis configures these services to help protect Customer information and to limit Customer Content submitted through business services from being used to train publicly available foundation models.

AI Product Improvement

Trellis may use Derived Data, Aggregated Data, De-identified Data, Operational Intelligence, and Platform Analytics to improve the quality, accuracy, reliability, security, and effectiveness of the Services, including AI-powered features.

Such information is used only in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the applicable customer agreement.

Trellis does not sell Customer Data or Customer Confidential Information for AI training.

AI Philosophy

Trellis is designed to augment human expertise, not replace customer relationships, professional judgment, or operational decision-making.

AI Limitations

Artificial intelligence is designed to assist, not replace, human judgment.

AI-generated outputs may occasionally contain inaccuracies, omissions, or recommendations that are not appropriate for every situation.

Customers should independently evaluate AI-generated content before relying upon it for significant business, operational, legal, financial, or compliance decisions.

8. Benchmarking and Research

Trellis may create and publish:

  • Benchmark reports
  • Industry studies
  • Trend analyses
  • Operational research
  • Educational materials
  • Best-practice recommendations

These materials are produced using aggregated and de-identified information and are not intended to identify individual customers or disclose Customer Confidential Information.

9. Third-Party Service Providers

We may share information with trusted third-party providers that assist in operating the Services.

Examples include providers for:

  • Cloud hosting
  • Authentication
  • Artificial intelligence services
  • Email delivery
  • Payment processing
  • Customer support
  • Analytics
  • Infrastructure monitoring

These providers are contractually required to protect information and may only process information on our behalf.
